Dr. Steinruck (one of the doctors that delivered Shyloh) came to have another look today and said we could take him home. Shyloh gained about 100g overnight which surprised the nurses and made Charmaine feel pretty good. He had only lost about 8% which isn't serious but to start gaining back so soon after Charmaine's milk came in is a good sign.

Shyloh sleeps like... well, a baby. Its amazing what you can do to him while he is sleeping! The nurse came and took about a pint of blood and he didn't even stir. Its a good thing I wasn't there though... I watched her do it the day before to the baby in the next bed over and it was all I could do to stay in my chair. I know its her job and that it doesn't hurt as much as it sounds like, but it still got me pretty worked up. Anyway, we were able to leave the hospital around noon. A quick stop at Wendy's for some Real Food and then home at last.
We gave Shyloh a tour of the house paying particular attention to his change table while trying not to get poop everywhere. He liked everything we showed him but definitely prefers his playpen next to Daddy's desk. As you can see, he wasn't terribly impressed with the the chair in the living room.

Mom and Shyloh had a very good afternoon nap and once they were up and about Lee, Ginger and Parker brought over some dinner and stayed for a short visit. It was really nice to get to spend time with other people again after having shut ourselves away last week and then no visitors to the hospital this week.

Parker didn't seem too disturbed by his Mom and Dad holding someone besides him. He's got a little bit to learn about gentleness, but nothing he can't learn from a new little brother or sister of his own. (Hint, hint!)
As for me, I'm not feeling much better but I am soooo glad to finally have them at home that it really does not matter. I know it will be awhile until life settles into anything we could describe as normal, but for now, I couldn't be any happier.
