We took Shyloh to the doctor again today for a follow up visit.  It turns out that he's gaining weight like crazy and is now up to 9lb 13oz! The doctor said we should consider feeding him on a regular schedule during the day and then demand feeds only during the night. This is welcome news for both Charmaine and I. Charmaine hasn't complained once about all the night time feeds but she was definitely starting to run low on sleep.

On the way home we stopped at the church and introduced Shyloh to the staff and a few ladies who were there. Pastor Leon was quite taken with Shyloh and held him very tenderly. Never one to miss an opportunity to teach, he reminded us that this was what God meant in Genesis 2:24 when He said "they will become one flesh."

Our church family is very important to us and it is only because of them that we are able to raise our children so far away from our own family. I have to admit though that I feel quite a bit of guilt over our church family being able to meet and hold Shyloh before our own family. Hopefully we can travel to Alberta in the next few weeks and show him off to the ones who taught us how to love.
