So we haven't quite got the sleeping thing sorted out just yet. Shyloh sleeps great during the day (we can hardly wake him up) but the last couple nights in particular have been very hard. We're pretty convinced that he doesn't like the dark so we've taken to sleeping with a lamp turned on the lowest setting. I know... we could just move him into his own room, but I'm not ready for that yet. Yep. Apparently I've become quite the softy and can't stand the thought of a wall and two doors between us for a whole night. I know what you're thinking though... "the nights can't be that hard yet if he's not willing to move him out, but just wait..."

Shyloh has been having some trouble keeping his food down as well. Us being the nervous new parents we are decided to take him to the doctor today. Of course the doctor said Shyloh is fine but come back in five days if he's still up-chucking whole meals.

And in other news, it looks like his little belly button stump is going to fall off soon. I don't know how long these things normally take but I've been watching with great interest each day wondering when it will actually come off while resisting the temptation to help it. Trust me, this is a big deal as neither Charmaine or I can leave a scab un-picked. Oh, and you'll be glad to know his (very) little surgery last Friday has healed up nicely and "things" are starting to look normal again if I do say so myself.

I mentioned before how Shyloh loves his Glo-Worm. We keep it on the change table (its easier to wipe the pee off of it than the teddy bears) and when he's not in a diaper changing mood we turn on the Glo-Worm and he calms right down when he hears the music. I know it will be awhile until he can do it on his own, but I'm already teaching him how to press its tummy to get it going. They say repetition is great for babies and I believe them, but the six songs it plays are getting a little bit old already. I think we're going to have to get the black Apple 80Gb iPod Video sooner than later. I'll bet we could jury rig it so that it still plays through the Glo-Worm!

We make sure he gets kissed and hugged a lot. So far I think we're averaging around 1000 kisses a day and the hugs aren't far behind. Anyway, I should be trying to sleep now while he's sleeping so off I go.
