The weeks and now months since Shyloh was born have definitely brought a lot of changes but the pace does seem to be slowing a little now.  That doesn't mean that I'll be blogging more often though as life is still quite full. However, I do have a few minutes now while Charmaine and Shyloh are out at drama practice so I thought I'd share a little about a few things that have happened recently.

The first thing isn't about Shyloh though, its about Charmaine. She is the first person in our family to break a bone. I thought that distinction would fall to me, or even Shyloh in a few years time, but Charmaine beat us both out with a broken toe on Tuesday. She was downstairs getting some frozen chicken out of the deepfreeze.  I guess it was too heavy for her though and she ended up dropping the plate and chicken onto her baby toe on her left foot. She debated on whether or not it was really broken and whether or not to go to a walk in clinic, but by the time she made up her mind they were all closed so we went out for ice cream instead. When she went to the clinic yesterday the doctor assured her that, yes it was broken and there was nothing he could do about it. It's not all bad though, none of her shoes will fit now so she gets to buy some new ones!

Another first this week is that Shyloh has started laughing. Real laughs, not just baby gurgles or the big open mouth while holding his breath. Charmaine and I both have been able to coax laughs out of him and I can honestly say I don't think I have ever heard such a wonderful sound. When he gets a little more consistent with it I'll get him on video for you. While I'm at it, we'll get some tape of him rolling over by himself and his shrieking. Yes, all of that this week! Did I say things were slowing down? I might have to rethink that...

One of the things I have always laughed at other parents for is the great pride they take in dressing up their children. Until today... I have now joined them and can no longer mock, point and laugh without also implicating myself.

I think I mentioned before how much Shyloh loves his Jolly Jumper. We make sure he gets to spend time in it every day, sometimes twice a day. It surprised me how quickly he figured out how to bounce and now he's able to bounce high enough that the spring can't get him any higher. He'll have to gain a few more pounds to stretch it out some more so I can raise the chain again. Oh, and he's also learned to control the direction he's facing. At this rate, he may be the first athlete in Wilson family history, though that thought makes me nervous if he decides to take up wrestling or Jiu-Jitsu. We're pretty sure he's crossed the 20lb mark already, but we'll get the official weight next week when he goes into the clinic for his 4 month booster shots.

Shyloh is pretty excited about this coming Sunday as it's his mother's first Mother's Day ever! I'm sure you'll find out more about that later though.

And one more just 'cause he's so precious.
