Another big first: Mother's Day. I didn't wake Charmaine up with breakfast in bed, but I did make her eggs and toast before getting Shyloh ready and heading out the door for church. Before we left Shyloh presented his mommy with a card containing an attempt at a hand-print and a bracelet with his birthstone. She cried a little and already the day was a success.

After church we went downtown for the afternoon to take in some of the Life and Arts Festival. We started with lunch at a little place called the Memphis Blues Barbeque House. Lee and Ginger had introduced us to this place on one of our trips to Vancouver and we loved it. Much to our surprise the they recently opened a location in Kelowna. If you haven't been there, call us up and we'll happily go with you for a little taste of the South.

Next up we watched a juggler juggling fire and chain saws, which was cool, but the best part of his act was watching him squeeze himself through a tennis racket while balancing an golf club on his chin.

Next we went to a drumming workshop hosted by Milton Randall. We had no idea what that going to be, but being in a somewhat adventurous mood we decided to check it out.

It turned out to be a good opportunity to scope out future dates for Shyloh.

And for Grandma too!

Shyloh had a try.  He's definitely got more rhythm than his Mom or Dad.

One of the most fascinating performers was Kira from Public Dreams.

Shyloh's first balloon! I can't wait to teach him what else you can do with Helium!

Yamabiko Taiko. Absolutely amazing!

And very high energy!

We wore Shyloh out.

But nothing a quick little nap couldn't cure.
