Charmaine and I spent all of Friday and most of Saturday cleaning out the basement so that we could put the office back downstairs since the upstairs was too hot to live in any more (28oC by 2PM). I can't believe how much we got done and how much we were able to throw out! We're not quite done yet but a trip to the dump will finish most of it and the recycling guys will be by on Wednesday for the rest.

The best part though was getting rid of the wicker shelves that we acquired from a garage sale about six years ago. We stuck them out by the curb gravel edge of the road and went back in the house. Ten minutes later we looked out the window and they were gone!  If I had known it was that easy I'd have done that ages ago!

Many of you know how much we hate dislike our neighbors. Five dogs barking day and night out the back, engines with no mufflers out the front, unlicensed motor vehicles pulling wheelies off the speed bumps and late night parties with regular visits from the RCMP all add up and take their toll on our patience. If the RE market wasn't so hot right now, we'd move in a heartbeat. Lately we've been talking half jokingly about moving back to Three Hills. We could sell our house here and with the profit we'd make on it we could just about pay cash for a nice house in Three Hills.

That's not really gonna happen though... Our community is here and while we do miss our family, I don't have enough of a network in Alberta to keep the programming work coming in. Which reminds me, if you know of anybody looking for custom software or web applications, send them my way!

In other news, Shyloh has cut his first two teeth! The first one poked through on Friday and the second one sometime yesterday morning. He was pretty miserable about the whole process but seemed to finally settle down last night. We had the best sleep we've had in ages and if we get a couple more like that we might even be able to survive the summer heat.
