If you know me well you know that I'm not a big fan of summertime, especially in Kelowna. In fact, you could say that I hate it.  I mean bedsides the burning heat in the high 30s, we have to deal with all the idiot tourists who can't find the lake until they're drowning in it.  No, I'm the kind of guy who appreciates the more moderate temperatures of spring and fall and who is quite happy sleeping with the window open in the dead of winter.

But that's all changed for me now.

I just heard Daryl Wilson's newest single called "Summertime" and it rocks!  His web site describes it as "Music for kids that won't drive parents crazy" and you know what? He's right!  The song is catchy but not annoying.  It's performed by real musicians with real talent.  You will love it and so will your kids.

Many of you have probably heard Bare Naked Ladies "Snack Time" CD.  Yeah, I know.  Not their best work.  If you bought it only to be frustrated at finding the same annoying rhymes and cheesy lyrics that plague all kids music then you really need to check out Daryl's single.  Before the end of the song you'll be tapping your foot and humming along, wishing that he was finished the rest of the CD already.

If you head over to his web site he's giving away a free download of the first single "Summertime" to all registered members of his website.Y ou can listen to it on your iPod, in your car, give it away to friends, play it for your mom or even your dog (early testing has shown that this song has NO effect whatsoever on cats).
